Augusta Regional Library
The design for the new flagship library for East Central Georgia Regional Library System consists of 3 floors encompassing 95,000 square feet. Located in historic downtown Augusta, Georgia, the exterior fenestration of the structure is designed to coexist with the traditional buildings in the immediate vicinity. The materials include brick in two colors, limestone, and black granite, and aluminum curtainwall. The interior is organized with the main circulation desk, children’s area and public meeting rooms on the ground level. Less active, quieter areas are on the second and third floors. A three story lobby at the building's main entrance serves as a focal point both on the interior and exterior.
