Studio 3 Design Group was commissioned to renovate and expand Augusta Preparatory Day School's library as part of an overall Master Plan (project area 5,100 SF) developed for the campus. The design team was challenged to develop an inviting educational space, complete with the latest technologies. The design includes a small addition to the back of the library, which faces the school's athletic fields, this provided the opportunity to incorporate large expanses of glass adding much-needed natural light and framed views of the beautiful campus. This new design also includes a state-of-the-art computer lab located within the library. The lab, complete with twenty-five computer stations, power projects screens, and a teaching station, can be used for classes or individual library patrons. The interiors are designed to be comfortable and inviting, as seen in the chosen finishes, furniture, and lighting. |
