The additions and renovations to Butler High School consists of replacement of a majority of the facility. Construction included new classrooms, art studio, science labs, and drama spaces. A new expansion commons area serves as the main student entrance, as well as the café area with its kitchen and serving area. The commons area, a two story space, includes tiered steps for students to gather and socialize, and a large clock overlooking the space. Renovations to the media center, band and chorale rooms, stadium and original gym were part of the project, providing a fresh new look for the campus. The exterior design is a blend of the 2009 gymnasium and the architecture of the original building, utilizing new materials for a contemporary aesthetic.
