The corporate offices of construction firm R.W. Allen, LLC are located in the historic Slusky Building on Broad Street in downtown Augusta. The Slusky Building was originally built in 1932 and features an Art Deco façade. S3DG completed the design-build interior renovation with the goal of preserving as many original features as possible, while providing a functional, dynamic floor plan with modern amenities. The original interior ceilings were left exposed in the corridors, conference rooms, and executive offices with lighting designed to highlight them. Staff offices feature exposed brick walls and lowered ceilings created by timbers reclaimed from the old Slusky warehouse. All finishes, furniture, and textiles were selected to compliment the original features of the building, and incorporate accents of indigo and red to reflect R.W. Allen’s corporate branding. The exterior of the building was modified to delete two entrances, leaving a main entrance to R.W. Allen’s ground floor lobby and a stairwell entrance to the 2nd floor expansion space.
