The Kathryn M. York Adapted Aquatic Center was designed and constructed as an addition to the Augusta Family Y for people with long and short term disabilities. The new facility includes a 30’x 64’ heated pool, a 40’ accessible ramp into the shallow end, and a lift system for those who need more assistance. The facility also includes handicap accessible changing rooms, a massage therapy room, and a director’s office. The facility was planned and funded in honor of the late Kathryn “Katie” York. A tile mosaic mural of Katie with arms wide open invites people into the pool at the building's entrance. |
